June 16, 2014

Grandpa,

So I heard that you and my dad are going back to Washington for a memorial trip given to all the Veterans of World War II and I just wanted to write you a letter and thank you for what you did and say that there is not a man that deserves such a great trip and honor as you.

You have always given a great example of sacrifice and how to live life the way it was intended to be lived. Always completed with the duties that were given, never giving a hint of doubt as to whether it would be taken care of. And above all you have instilled in your kids and grandkids that to be a Whitaker, means something. That we are not just run in the mill, that we really are something special. And i truly do want to thank you for that. It takes an incredible man to make others respect his name. And it takes a legend to pass that on to his family.

Thank you for what you did for our country. I love the mine stories you told Scott and I, especially the one that blew up. Thanks for always being an example and a rock. I will always be grateful for you and Grandma.

Love you so much.

Bryce
