North Carolina Week 3

Hola Familia!!

This week has been pretty good. our area is starting to show small signs of life. we have a family we found on friday, taught saturday, and they came to church, that blew my mind. the mom seems really interested. but we got stuck in the Relief society room so we didnt get to talk after church. but hopefully we can get to their house and teach them again. when we taught the first time we talked about the priesthood and how it can help and how every house should have one priesthood holder, this mom is recently separated, well we said that and she stared right at her son who is thirteen. it was really funny. but yeah. we are really focusing on finding people to teach. we are hitting the trailer parks a lot, and a couple days ago we drove into one and got our stuff ready. haha when i was getting my LDM's and BofM's out i had a flash back to hunting with Scott and Casey this year when you are standing at the door of the truck getting your stuff out and loading up for whatever is about to happen, it made me smile. but we walked off and there was a group of kids playing in the street and one girl threw it at us and i lobbed it back, well then she started playing like "dont let the balloon touch the ground" kinda deal and next thing i know there are like fifteen kids with us playing. ha it was fun, while we were playing with them a little kid ran up and asked us to help his dad. we turned and saw a massive tv going into this tiny house. it was ridiculously heavy, we tried to talk to them but they, as usual, are totally happy with their religion and dont wanna hear a word of what we have to say. i will tell you about the epitome of that kinda person in a second. but yeah we played and it was fun. so another time when we were in a trailer park to drop by one of our investigators, we walked up to a group of people talking to a cop and it was obvious they were having a hard time getting the point across, everyone in the group was Hispanic. Well guess what, we totally speak Spanish now;) so we got to translate for Cops!!! it was so fun. i mean it wasnt anything super awesome like where are the weapons or anything, but still sweet.
So i told you about the hard headed people, we have met our new project, sadly she is white so we arent allowed to actually teach her, but her Name is Cindy, and she is totally commited to the Bible, so much so that i tried to show her a verse in the BofM and she literally wouldnt look, or touch it. these people out here are hard to understand. there are so many random churches everywhere you drive its funny.
photo.jpg    But everything is going really good. it hasnt rained since that crazy one, but sounds like you guys are all getting pounded out there. so thanks for keepin me dry;) and keep me posted on SF and BYU football. Hopefully all is well and especially that Dixie is alive and breathing. oh and Casey hahaha thats crazy!!!!!!! well i guess we know now, cinches on saddles are more important than we would have thought. good to hear he is ok though. Tell the kids hi and give em a big ol hug for me. I love hearing about the little ones :)
if you ever go to yardsales mom, be on the lookout for ties;) we went Saturday, yard sales are huge out here, but we went and talked to a family we had left a bunch of pamphlets with to put out for their sale, so yes there was a purpose, and she gave us ties. it was sweet. but i will put the pictures of me at the yardsale on facebook. its kinda funny.

Love you all so much!
Adios

Note:  Casey was in a match race at the track in SLC  Saturday.  The saddle shifted and he fell off!  Ended up in the hospital ER but thankfully was able to return home late that same night.  Grateful for the power of priesthood blessings!
